DASH AT FAIRFAX COUNTY TIER II TRAINING

Wendy Claunch was pleased to present DASH as part of the Fairfax County Office for Women and Domestic and Sexual Violence Services Tier II Training session on teen dating violence. The three-hour session included information on Defining TDV, Early Warning Signs, Lethal Warning Signs, Power and Control Wheel, How Family/Friends Can Help, plus educational videos and engaging exercises. In a group exercise called “Stay or Go” participants were asked to decide whether to stay in or leave a relationship given several scenarios while remembering how they would have reacted as a 16 year old. Over 30 participants are now qualified to present information on teen dating violence to their schools/organizations.

Thanks to Sandy Bromley, Heather Sarmiento (Office for Women) and Kacey Kirkland (Victim Services Section, Fairfax County Police Dept.) for a terrific program!!
