Lee High School

Andrew Russell and Wendy Claunch spoke to the seniors of Lee High School before their graduation rehearsal. The students were receptive to the message that Dating Abuse Stops Here: it stops with me, I will not perpetuate it, I will not tolerate it and I will speak up if I see it happening.

McLean High School Follows Suit!

McLean High School was also at the forefront of raising awareness about teen dating abuse this past month. On Wednesday March 25, 2011, McLean HS, along with the Safe Community Coalition, hosted a presentation/discussion with the DASH team. Click here to read more about the evening.

Thank you to all our DASH friends who came to our fundraiser at the Buffalo Wing Factory to help us commemorate Siobhan’s birthday and the first anniversary of Dating Abuse Stops Here. Your support for us keeps Siobhan’s memory alive and inspires us tremendously.

K-9 Krawl, 2nd Annual Event held October 15, 2011 is a 5k dog walk to raise awareness about the link between domestic abuse and animal cruelty. Held during National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the walk was sponsored by the (FCPD) Victim Services Section and Fairfax County Police Department.

DASH on Courage Empowerment Forum!

On Tuesday, February 22nd, Lynne Russell and her nephew John Murray were guest speakers on Lyn Twyman’s Courage Empowerment Forum (Party934 Radio). Courage Empowerment Forum is a program that features guests discussing real stories and resources for those affected by domestic violence, crime victimization and other social issues.  The show’s guests come from various backgrounds and share their stories in an effort to inspire and support those dealing with tough, personal issues in their day to day lives. click here to hear Lynne and John’s interview.
